Lai Jiang is a sound editor, sound designer, and re-recording mixer based in Los Angeles. She currently serves as Lead Sound Editor at GoodShort, where she oversees sound editorial and post-production across a slate of scripted series, helping shape the sonic identity of projects from concept through final delivery.
Originally from Ningbo, China, Lai received her MFA in Film and Television Production from the University of Southern California. Since graduating, she has worked across narrative film, documentary, animation, immersive media, and serialized digital storytelling, with a particular passion for using sound to deepen emotional connection and enhance narrative impact.
At GoodShort, Lai has led audio production on dozens of released series, collaborating closely with directors, producers, editors, and fellow sound artists to develop efficient workflows while maintaining a high creative standard under demanding production schedules. Her work spans dialogue editing, sound design, music spotting, re-recording mixing, quality control, and team leadership.
Projects she has contributed to have received recognition from organizations including the News & Documentary Emmy Awards, Bronze Telly Award in the General Drama category at the 47th Annual Telly Awards, the Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at Cannes Film Festival, and the Student Academy Awards , and have been exhibited internationally in museums, planetariums, and galleries.
